EDWARD PASSMORE Obituary

NEW WASHINGTON - Edward Passmore, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and esteemed member of his community, passed away on Feb. 8, 2024 in Dubois.

Born on Aug.17, 1941 Edward's life was filled with love, laughter and unwavering dedication to his family and faith.

He married Bonnie Kester on May 11, 1968.

Edward was preceded in death by his son, Gerri Passmore and his daughter-in-law Peggy Passmore, a grandson Corey James, also by brothers George, Walter, Floyd, Charles; and his sisters, Hellen, Julia, Ruth, Alta, Idarose.

Edward's devotion and commitment as a father were evident in the love he shared with his children. He is survived by his sons, Edward (Justine) Passmore of Commodore, Stephen (Gloria) of LaJose, John (Melissa) of Mahaffey, Louis (Cassandra) of Clymer; and his daughter Jennifer Passmore of Fayetteville. Also survived by brothers, Ellis, Rodney; and his sisters, Betty, Alice; his 13 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren, which brought him immense happiness and filled his days with love and laughter.

Each grandchild will forever hold their cherished memories close to their hearts. His guidance, wisdom, and unconditional love has left a mark on their lives.

In addition to his role as a loving husband and father, Edward served his country with honor and distinction, he bravely served in the U.S. Army which demonstrates his unwavering commitment to protect the liberties and freedom we hold dear.

Edward was also a member of the Mahaffey fire hall, where he dedicated countless hours serving his community. Throughout his life, Edward found joy in his hobbies. He had a deep love for hunting and fishing which he shared those times with his family.

Edward will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by all of the lives he touched.

Forever in our hearts.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 13 from 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. and Feb. 14 from 12 to 2 p.m. with the funeral starting at 2 p.m. Officiated by the Rev. Robert Kester.

Will be followed by military graveside honors at the New Washington Cemetery.

Lloyd-Dimmick Funeral Home of Irvona is in charge of arrangements.
