Lucy Smith Obituary
Born Aug. 21, 1950 in Philipsburg, she was a daughter of the late Robert C. Campbell and Irene (Timchak) Campbell.
On Sept. 22, 1969, she wed John V. Smith Sr. of Smoke Run.
Lucy was Catholic and had attended Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Ramey.
Lucy was a wonderful homemaker. She loved her Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Yankees. She loved dancing to the music of the Moore Brothers.
Along with her husband, she is survived by three children, John V. (Jennifer) Smith Jr. of Ohio, David A. (Ashley) Smith of Houtzdale and Jennifer L. (Brian) Lansberry of Smoke Run; five grand children, Deidra (Jay) Lender, Derek Lansberry and companion Brittany, Jessica (Joe) Stanowski, Emily and Lainey Smith; two step-grandchildren, Madison and Timmy Wright; two great-grandchildren, Chase and Jayson Stanowski; five sisters and two brothers, Virginia Waite, Lorraine (Dave) Baxter, Diane (Joe) Behun, Kathy (Kerry) Kephart, Melissa (Bill) Droll, Larry and Steven Campbell and a sister-in-law, Veronica Smith.
Also surviving are two aunts, Shirley Timchak and Ethel (Sheldon) Sharpless.
Lucy had many special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Glenn R. Smith; infant twin siblings, Rodger and Rebecca Campbell; a brother, Robert C. Campbell Jr.; sister and brother-in-law, Gloria and Walter Kozlosky.
She loved her children and grandchildren dearly and she will be sadly missed by many friends.
Family and friends will be received at the Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., Houtzdale, on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Father Zab Amar officiating.
A memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
Donations may be made to the children, the American Cancer Society or Penn Highland Hospice, 757 Johnsonburg Road, Suite 200, St. Marys, PA 15857.

I thought the world of Lucy. She was a wonderful person and a lot of fun to be around. She loved to dance and we did that so many times. Her presence and smile could just light up any room. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends. Sending prayers to you all. May God wrap his loving arms around you and give you peace and comfort during this difficult time.
