MARIE KRAUSE Obituary
Born on Jan. 27, 1936, in Grassflat, she was the daughter of the late Algot "Pete" Nelson and Elverda V. (Wick) Nelson.
She married Rodger L. Krause on Sept. 25, 1954, in Yellow Springs; he preceded her in death on Nov. 11, 2021.
Marie was a member of the Christian faith.
She was a homemaker. She was also a graduate of the former Cooper Township High School.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Bradford; a great granddaughter, Taelin Goss; three sons-in-law, Mike Sabol IV, David Cassick, and Mark Richner; and a brother, Thomas Nelson.
Marie is survived by six daughters, Susan Mason and her husband Dusty of West Decatur, Donna Merritt and her husband Danny of West Decatur, Janet Richner of West Decatur, Judy Krause of Philipsburg, June Sabol and her companion Doug Golding of West Decatur, and Lori Shimel and her husband Jody of West Decatur; a son, Mike Krause and his companion Pam Askey of West Decatur; two sisters, Jean Gilham and her husband Clayton of Philipsburg, and Joan Royer and her husband Ernie of Allport; three brothers, James Nelson and his wife Linda of Grassflat, Ernie Nelson and his wife Marlene of Grassflat, and Larry Nelson and his wife Aggie of Grassflat; a sister-in-law, Janet Nelson of Georgetown, Texas; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 16, 2024 at Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, 701 Lingle St., Osceola Mills. Pastor Mike Knepp will officiate.
Burial will be at the Philipsburg Cemetery in Philipsburg.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at the funeral home.
