Marilyn Selfridge Obituary

CLEARFIELD - Marilyn Anne (McGarvey) Selfridge, 90, of Clearfield, went to be with the Lord God, on May 11, 2025.

Born in Clearfield on March 31, 1935, she married Roger Selfridge in 1953.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Violet McGarvey; her husband, Roger; her son, Stephen; and grandson, Logan Lupton. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Duane, Jerry, Dean, Joseph, and Jack McGarvey.

She is survived by her children, Jeffrey Selfridge of Hyde, Cindy Margeson of Harrisburg, and Sandra Lomax of Nova, Ohio.

Marilyn was a constant learner, and very curious about life. She graduated from Penn State with a teaching degree and then her Masters in Reading. She taught in the Clearfield School District before becoming involved in PSEA.

Later, she became a Mary Kay consultant and loved interacting with her clients.

Her most recent adventure was painting. She began lessons at 77 and entered her paintings at the County Fair winning in several categories.

She was a passionate woman who loved God, her family and life to the fullest. Her talents were many and she did them to perfection. She was an excellent homemaker, loved to bake, and hosted fabulous meals. Her greatest achievement was sharing the love of God with those she loved so unconditionally.

She celebrated her extended family to include grandchildren, Jessica Gardner, Tyler Margeson, Stephanie Bloom, Anessa Barns, Laurel Britton, and Joshua Margeson. Her great grandchildren include Jaden Lupton, Brody Jasper, Everett Margeson, Audrey Margeson, Henry Margeson and Samuel Herrera.

She adored her nieces, Sherry Siegel, Kathleen Kirkwood, Anna Richards, Violet Abuhl, Jeddie Brumley, Gillian McGarvey, and a nephew, Richard McGarvey.

She spent her last years as a resident in Mt. Laurel Nursing Home sharing the Gospel of Christ and praying with her neighbors. We sincerely thank them for their great care and love for her.

Her celebration of life will be held June 28, 2025, visitation at 10 a.m., service at 11 a.m. and a luncheon afterwards at the Curwensville Christian & Missionary Alliance Church.
