Nannie Archer Obituary
Born Jan. 17, 1934 in (Pinchy) rural Allport, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Ester Rea (Coble) Snedden.
Nan was Methodist faith.
She was employed by General Cigar in Philipsburg until her retirement.
Nan was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Auxiliary.
Socializing with family and friends was her passion. Nan was a great cook and a connoisseur of good coffee. She took pride in the appearance of herself and husband. She loved game shows and had a sharp memory until her final days.
On July 5, 1957 in Winchester, Va., she married Richard J. Archer, who preceded her in death on April 24, 2009.
Nan is survived by a daughter, Deborah (Thomas) Eckberg of Houtzdale; a son, Duane (Debra) Archer of Frenchville; and four grandchildren, Brad (Trudy) Eckberg of Brisbin, Antoinette (Anthony) Buck of Frenchville, Tina Eckberg of Pittsburgh and Deanna (Craig) Lobb of Brisbin.
Also surviving are eight great grandchildren, Lauren, Trae, Jalen, Tyler, Noelle, Kassidy, Axton and Amelia.
Nan was the last of her generation.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband and eight siblings.
Family and friends will be received Monday at the Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., Houtzdale from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
The funeral service will be held at the funeral home Monday, Sept. 27, 2021 at 1 p.m.
The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
