Paul Morroni Obituary

SPRING MILLS - Paul M. "Butch" Morroni, 73, formerly of Smithmill and most recently of Spring Mills, passed away at the home of his sister in Houtzdale.

Born Oct. 10, 1952, in Philipsburg, Paul was a son of the late Ernest Morroni and Irene (Zazworsky) Morroni of Houtzdale. He was a 1970 graduate of Moshannon Valley High School.

Paul was employed with several different companies throughout the years, most notably Morroni Brothers Florist and more recently the Bryce Jordan Center and the Applied Research Center at Penn State University until his retirement. He enjoyed yoga at the Penns Valley YMCA, golfing, gardening and cooking. Most of all, Paul enjoyed riding his motorcycle and teaching motorcycle safety courses.

In addition to his mother Irene, Paul is survived by his sister, Tonia Reese (James) of Houtzdale; his brother, Brian J. Morroni and his companion Dana Schrock of Smithmill; a niece, Susan R. Frank of Philipsburg; a nephew, James C. Reese of Hollidaysburg and a great nephew, Chad Frank of Pittsburgh. In addition to his father, Paul was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Michael and Anna Zazworsky, his paternal grandparents Paul and Philomena Morroni of Smithmill, as well as several aunts and uncles. He was also preceded by his beloved dog, Munch.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Ramey with the Rev. Robert Ford officiating.

Memorial contributions in memory of Paul may be given to the American Cancer Society.
