Randall L. "Randy" Guthrie

1948 - 2025

MINERAL SPRINGS - Randall L. "Randy" Guthrie, 77, of Mineral Springs, passed away on Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, at Penn Highlands DuBois following a short illness.

Randy was born Feb. 23, 1948, in Philipsburg, the son of the late Boyd and Lois (Casher) Guthrie.

He was a graduate of Clearfield High School, class of 1966. He was a life member of the Clearfield Elks Lodge #540. Randy enjoyed spending time with his family, as well as making trips to the casino. He was an organ donor.

Randy worked as a Mine Foreman at Lady Jane Collieries before going into the insurance business. He worked as an agent for New York Life, Prudential, and American General. His insurance career ended when he retired from the Clearfield County Grange Mutual Fire Insurance Company as a Secretary/Treasurer.

He is survived by his wife, Betsy (Gearhart) Guthrie whom he married on April 22, 1967; three sons, Randall L. Guthrie Jr. of Fort Mill, S.C.; Richard L. Guthrie of Leonardtown, Md., and Robert L. Guthrie and wife Donna of York. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Aubrey Baugher and husband JP of Arendtsville, Jeffrey Guthrie of Fort Mill, S.C., Sydney Guthrie of Westminster, Md., Simon Guthrie of Springfield, W.Va., and Sophie Guthrie of Columbus, Ohio; one great grandson, John Casey Baugher; and two brothers, Jack Guthrie and wife Judi of Mineral Springs, and Douglas Guthrie of Mineral Springs.

In addition to his parents, Randy is preceded in death by a sister, Diana Wilsoncroft; and a grandson, Jacob Randall Guthrie.

Honoring Randy's wishes, there will be no public services. Burial will be in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.
