ROBERT L. FLECK

1945 - 2023

STATE COLLEGE - Robert Lee "Bob" Fleck, 77, of State College, passed away Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023, at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College.

Born on April 27, 1945 at home in Chester Hill, he was a son of the Roy James and Vera Elizabeth (Lumadue) Fleck. Bob was a graduate of Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School and received an associate degree in education from Penn State University.

He worked as a contractor manager for Clasters, Lezzer Lumber and Lowes until his retirement. He had also been a radio announcer for WPHB radio for several years. Bob enjoyed spending time researching and reading on his computer and had been a member of the Hollidaysburg Masonic Lodge.

On Aug. 16, 1969, he married the former Sarah J. "Sally" Gilham, who survives at home. Also surviving is his best friend "Ike"; son-in-law, David Best of Acworth, Ga.; sister, Irma Botwright of Philipsburg; and two grandsons, Liam and Janson Best.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kellie Sue Fleck-Best on Sept. 3, 2022; two brothers, William and Roy "Jim" Fleck; two sisters, Katherine Reese and Jean McGuire; an infant sister, Susan; and a nephew, Chris Gilham.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held at a later date and time, to be announced. He will be laid to rest at Mock's Hill Cemetery in West Decatur. Online condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.dahlgren-spewock.com.
