Robert Rebon Obituary
Born Feb. 7, 1936 in Olanta, he was the son of Robert and Agnes (Rackovan) Rebon. Mr. Rebon had worked for the former Curwensville Construction Co. where he retired from and also worked for the Bradford Coal Co.
He served with the U.S. Army between the Korean and Vietnam Wars as a radio operator, was a member of St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville, was a member of the Curwensville VFW and American Legion, the Curwensville L.O.O.M. Family Center, and a Life Member of the Curwensville Rescue, Hose, and Ladder Co.
He played music with several area bands but played the last 40+ years with the Hoe Down Band and they played at numerous venues all over central Pennsylvania.
On April 29, 1989 in Curwensville, he wed the former Beth Elaine (Newton) Lezzer, who preceded him in death on Jan. 7, 2011. He was also preceded in death by his parents; sisters Mary Kavala, Agnes "Bunny" Krolick, and Ann Rebon; brothers Joseph, Albert, Edward, and infant Adam Rebon; and a stepson Edward Lezzer.
Surviving are five nieces and nephews: Marcia Myrter and husband Ed, Cindy Rebon, Mark Rebon, Kathy Rowles and her significant other Rex Powell and Charlene Ogden and husband Dan; and a stepson Robert Lezzer and wife Holly.
At the request of Mr. Rebon, there will be no public visitation and a private Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville with the Rev. Father L. Stephen Collins as Celebrant. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Brisbin.
The family suggests contributions be made to St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church, 306 Walnut St., Curwensville, PA 16833.
