Bum passed away peacefully in the arms of family at Vaca Valley Hospital on Friday, Jan. 21, 2011. She is survived by her loving family: sons, Bill McRae, Bill Pomeroy and Craig McRae (Diane); daughters, Crystal "Chris" Zahorsky (Frank) and Gail Paquette; granddaughter, Melissa Zahorsky; sister, Margaret E. Cummins; and numerous cousins, nieces and great-nieces and nephews, as well as many wonderful friends. Her loving husband ,John L. McRae, preceded her in death after 58 years of marriage in 2002 as well as her loving sister, Pat Prather, in 2010.
Bum was a wonderful wife and mother who believed in family and always being supportive and never turned her back on them during good times and bad. She never missed a horse show with Bill, a baseball game with Craig or a recital with Chris. Her house was the go to house for all of the kids in the neighborhood. She will always be remembered for her love of family, laughter, sense of humor, and fun loving and outgoing personality. She was an avid baseball fan and loved her Oakland A's, a bridge player, bowler, and was treasurer of Babe Ruth League and Little league and a well known score keeper. She had many talents, gardening, china and oil painting, sewing, quilting, knitting and crocheting.
We would like to thank all of mother's physicians and the staff of Vaca Valley Hospital who gave mom such wonderful and kind care.
A celebration of Bum's life will be today at 1 p.m. at Nadeau Family Funeral Home, Vacaville, Calif.
