Lillie McDonald Obituary

June 27, 1918 - Dec. 11, 2006

A celebration of life for Lillie McDonald, 88, of Vacaville will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, 1127 Davis St., Vacaville.

Pastor Leroy Gainey and Pastor Bob Lawler will officiate.

Mrs. McDonald passed away Dec. 11, 2006 following a brief illness.

She was born June 27, 1918 in Los Molinos. She worked as a clerk in a department store for 2 years. She was a member of Eastern Star and of First Baptist Church.

She was a gracious lady and was loved by all that knew her. She was a wonderful caregiver to her family. She lived in Dunsmuir for 50 years.

She worked at the Dunsmuir Pharmacy as a drug store clerk for 30 years and retired at the age of 62, to travel with her wonderful husband. She and her husband took trips to Canada and the eastern United States. In 2001, she and her husband moved to La Quinta to be close to two of their daughters and lived there for two years. When her husband passed away, she moved to Vacaville in 2001. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her favorite pastime was gardening and shopping.

Mrs. McDonald is survived by her daughters, Joyce (Bob) Davis of La Quinta, Jacqui (Ernie) Moore of Vacaville and Helen (Barry) Waugaman of La Quinta; sister, Irene Clark of Redding; brother, John (Beth) Freeman of Blythe; eight grandchildren, Jackie (Mike) Scioli of Texaco, N.M., Randy (Rita) Regal of Reno, Nev., Stormy (Jurgen) Haust of Siedelsbrunn, Germany, Joelle and Addison Groendes of Salem, Ore., Rebecca (Jeff) and Aiden Locarnini of Vacaville, and Trent Deushane of La Quinta; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She ws preceded in death by her husband of 21 years, Jack McDonald, and a brother, Ralph Freeman, of Wenatchee, Wash.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1625 W. Texas St., Fairfield, 94533.

Arrangements are under the direction of McCune Garden Chapel, 448-6546.
