Necola (Nikki) Marie Turner was born on Jan 5, 1931, in Seguin, Texas.
She was the eldest of two daughters of Elnora Cunningham.
Necola married at a young age and was a wonderful mother who raised eight children. She juggled the demands of a military lifestyle with a true calling to motherhood. As her family's military life came to an end at Travis Air Force Base, the family moved to Vacaville in 1969. She enjoyed being active in the community through her own interest in bowling as well as being an active participant in her children's sports and recreational activities. Her presence was so powerful that she often was anointed the team's No. 1 fan and became the unofficial "Team Mom." Her hobbies also included gardening, camping, working on the farm caring for the animals, playing card games and dominoes with family and friends and was often tempted by her excursions to the slot machines at the casinos. She also loved watching sports and chose to root for the underdog. Necola's positive non-judgmental outlook about people and life made her a magnet that touched many people's lives.
We are saddened by the absence of Necola in our lives, but rejoice in knowing that she is in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Necola is survived by her mother, Elnora Cunningham; sister, Nora Mae Johnson (her husband Thomas Johnson) and family; eight children, Clarece Jones (husband Harold (Buzz), Ronald Turner (wife Benita), JoAnn Meier (husband Bruce), Michael Turner, Charles Turner (wife Patricia), Paul Turner, Robin Turner, Geri Hazelitt (husband Jeff); grandchildren, Todd and Scott Jones, Christopher Turner, Devin and Draye Turner, Tanicia Turner, Jordyn Hazelitt; and great grandchildren, Sabrina and Janae Jones; and a large honorary family.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 23, at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 1127 Davis St., Vacaville, CA 95687, to be celebrated by the Rev. Leroy Gainey, pastor.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure (http://ww5.komen.org/) or Kaiser Hospice (Kaiser Foundation Hospitals).
Arrangements are by Vaca Hills Chapel Funeral Home, 446-3233.

I am so sorry to hear that Nikki is no longer with us. She was a beautiful lady who always had a smile on her face. I enjoyed seeing her at the bowling alley. I used to tease her about her hat that kept the noise down and kept her head warm. Bowling will not be the same without her. My deepest condolences to her family and friends.
