Patrick J. Patelzick

1943 - 2018

Sept. 9, 1943 - July 7, 2018 Vacaville Patrick J. Patelzick died July 7, after fighting Alzheimier's disease for six years. He was born in New York and his parents, Everett and Rose Patelzick moved to California when Pat was three. He was raised in Alameda, went to Alameda High and excelled in sports. Joined the Army in 1963, served two years, was discharged and met his wife, Rochelle. They were married in 1966, remained in Alameda until they bought their first home in 1968 and moved to Fremont. Pat worked for several trucking companies and found his final employment with Lucky Stores, where he worked for 28 years. He retired at 54 and kept himself busy with the things he loved, golfing, fishing, camping, boating, car shows, restoring cars, and traveling. He is survived by his wife, Rochelle; sons, Greg (Kerry), Patrick (Tracy), and Tim Patelzick; nine special grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and a sister, Rose Ann Sandstrom of Sonora.He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Frank and Andrew Mendoza. Vigil and rosary at McCune Garden Chapel, 212 Main St., Vacaville on July 17 from 4 to 7 p.m. Mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 300 Hemlock St., Vacaville, July 18, at 1:30 p.m. Inurnment to follow at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon at 3 p.m.
