Pauline Boykin Obituary

1928 - 2018 Vacaville Pauline passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on June 22, five days before her 90th birthday. Pauline was born at home in Bismarck, ND on June 27, 1928 to Otila Dinus and Baltzaar Schatz. Pauline graduated from Fife High School in Tacoma, WA in 1946. She was an active member of the tumbling team and drama club. She was a secretary at Boeing in Seattle, WA. Later she relocated to Vacaville, CA and worked at Travis Air Force Base. Pauline married Paul C. Boykin on June 19, 1959 in Vacaville. She and Paul owned and operated Pleasant Valley Builders for over 30 years. Pauline was an active volunteer for Girls Scouts, Women of the Moose, the Senior center and spent over 50 years serving on the election board. She was an expert seamstress and had advanced crochet skills earning many awards. Pauline and Paul loved bowling, traveling, fishing, and camping. They were both proud to be Black Shirt Bowlers. Pauline is survived by her devoted family, loving daughters, Denise Marie Wood of Vacaville, Robbyn Sue (David) Wilgus of Las Vegas, Rochelle (Lance) Markins-Myers of Gold River, CA, Nancy Jean (Chris Glentzer) Boykin of Ukiah, Delores Ann (Scott) Baker of Riverton, UT; sister, Alice Beers of Washington; 12 grandchildren, Carrielynn Wood, Daniel Wood, Jared Boykin, Ben (Amy) Wilgus, Nicole Boykin, Stephen (Amy) Baker, Seth Castro, Kelly Wilgus (D.J. Napolitan), Lindsay Baker, Garrett (Marissa) Boykin, Emily (Sage) Frederickson, and Jewel Streeter; nine great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Cleveland Boykin Jr.; son, Gerald Richard Boykin; sons-in-law, Thomas Markins and Dannie Wood; sisters, Eva, Anastacia, Jean, Rosemary, and brothers, Anton and Leo. A celebration of Pauline's life will be held on Wednesday, June 27, at McCune Garden Chapel, 212 Main St., in Vacaville at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Breast Cancer Research Foundation, give.bcrf.org.
