Adored son, grandson, husband, brother, uncle, colleague and friend to all who knew him, Quinton Zachary Watson, 30, passed away Saturday following a dirt bike accident in the Sierra Mountains. An exceptionally generous and kind person, Quint lived and died happy, fulfilled, and surrounded by people he loved.
Quint was born in Southern California and has lived in Pittsburg for the past 10 years. He was a gifted and respected systems engineer and had worked as a Senior Network Architect with Amcom for the last two years.
Quint's energy, intellect, good humor, and love of life are much valued by his loving family and his wonderful, extensive network of friends. His very full life included outdoor pursuits such as his first and favorite sport, dirt bike riding, wakeboarding, snowboarding, and camping.
Quint excelled at everything he did. He was an honor student at Armijo High School (class of 1995) and graduated from Heald College in 1997 with a perfect 4.0 - the only student on scholarship. He had an insatiable curiosity and consistently challenged himself and inspired everyone who knew him.
Quint is survived by his wife, Corrine (nee Brownell) Watson; his parents, Bill and Andrea Watson of Benicia; his sisters, Tiffany Watson of Oakland and Brittany Watson of Fairfield; his grandparents, John and Betty Merrill of Redding; and his beloved yellow lab, Roxy.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Heritage Presbyterian Church, 1400 East Second St., Benicia.
Arrangements are under the direction of Passalacqua Funeral Chapel, Benicia, 745-3130.

Dear Quint,
About a year and a half ago I started dating this girl named Lisa. I
recently moved in with her and her son, and since then have pretty much
met all of her friends but started thinking to myself that she hasn't
met any of mine. This got me thinking about you, and so about a week
ago I logged onto myspace here, and went to your page to see when the
last time you logged on was so I could see if this would be a good way
of tracking you down. I had tried to call you a few times in the last
two years, but I never got an answer, unfortunately life takes over
sometimes, and I never tried any harder than that to get a hold of
you. When I got to your page I was completely in awe. Shock is
probably a better word for it. The reason for my shock was that I saw
the screen name of your top friend. I couldn't believe what I was
reading. I had to look further into it, so I scrolled down, and got
more confirmation about what happened from a few comments that had been
left. Still in denial that this could have happened, I clicked on your
number 1 friends page, and read your wife's "about me" section.
I still can't believe it, and my thoughts have been all over the place
for the past week or so. I've thought about how we used to ride in
your Blazer listening to RythmX, and I would hold my hand in the same
position that he did on his album cover to that mirror on your Blazer.
I have thought about working in the Family Cookie Co., and how you and
I used to throw dough at each other, then throw it back into the mixer,
and how Ilyaz's dad used to say "Cookie fall on ground, same time, pick
up". I have thought about how much we used to laugh. You had pretty
much the exact same sense of humor as me, and so it was always easy for
us to make each other laugh. I have thought about that huge packet of
jokes you gave me on my birthday that you downloaded off of a bulletin
board. I still remember some of them, and tell them to people when I'm
in a joke telling mood. I have thought about going to your house and
smoking that Cuban with you. I have thought about when we went to the
comedy club I worked at, and got to hang out for a while after. I have
thought about going to the reunion and hanging out with you there. I
have thought about the time that I went over to your house when we were
in high school and we told your mom's friend that my name was Pierre
and I talked with a French accent the whole time. And I have thought
about the time you and your dad took me camping with you. That was so
much fun. I will never forget one thing from that trip, that was your
dad was driving really fast, and a car passed us, and I remember he
said "always let someone go faster than you". I have always let
someone go faster than me.
There have been so many things that I have thought about, but mostly I
have thought about what a great friend and what a great person you
were. If it weren't for you, I would likely not be here today. You
helped pull me thought one of the worst times in my life. You were one
of two friends from high school that I kept in contact with. You were
one of my best friends. You are one of my best friends, and you always
will Quint. You were my fourth brother. I will always miss you, and
you will always be in my heart my friend. I owe my life to you, and I
promise that I will live every day with you in mind. I will live every
day just a little harder so that you can live that day with me. I am
not a religious man, but this tragedy fills me with a hope that there
is an afterlife, or, at the very least, reincarnation because our
friendship can't be over. I hope that we meet again some day Quint. I
love you, and I miss you very much. Rest in Peace Quint.
I posted this on Quints myspace page, but I wanted to make sure that his family was able to see what Quint meant to me. There are not words that can express the sorrow I feel over this loss.

Dear Corrine & the Watson family. My family and I send our deepest condolences. We wish that with time you all can get through these trying times. Regardless of the time lapsed, we were always to pick up our conversation as if not one day had passed. The last memory I have of Quint appeared to be one of the most memorable and joyous days of his life, his wedding day. I have never seen Quint as happy and complete. That is how I will remember him. -Steve, Frances & Jaxon Tan

The Watson Family: I knew Quint since high school and we kept in touch ever since. Quint was someone I could always trust and someone that could make me smile. Quint built my first computer, got me my first Labrador Retreiver (Monterey)and always invited me to social gatherings. I will forever miss Quint and think of him daily since his passing. I know we will see him again and look forward to seeing him smile again. Quint had an influence in my life and will always be rememebered.

My deepest condolences to Corrine, Quinton's parents & his sisters. We will all miss Quinton's big smile, his helping hand, kind & gentle spirit and his sense of humor. He brought to work an ongoing positive attitude toward everyone and everything he did. He was not only extremely intelligent, but had an exceptionaly ability to communicate to anyone at any level. We are happy and honored to have known Quinton and had the chance to work with him. He is certainly someone that left this earth better than he found it ~ simply by being himself.

Quint was as good as they come. One could try, but it would be pretty hard to find a young man with as much passion and love for life than Quint. His energy and kindness was contagious to those around him - making everyone feel like they had known him their whole life. Thank you Quint for being the amazing person you were and for the impact that you made on this earth during your short time here. We feel very fortunate to have been friends with you. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Corrine, and the rest of your extended family during this difficult time. God Bless.

DEAR BILL & ANDI, I HOPE YOU KNOW HOW SORRY I AM. I SUFFERED A KIND OF PARALLASIS,I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO OR WHAT TO SAY. I WAS AFRAID TO TALK TO YOU FOR FEAR OF DOING NOTHING BUT CRY. BUT AFTER READING ALL OF THE BEAUTIFUL THINGS EVERYONE HAD TO SAY ABOUT QUINT I FEEL BETTER. YOU MUST BE WONDERFUL PARENTS TO HAVE CREATED SUCH A PERFECT SON. IT MAKES THE LOSS THAT MUCH GREATER BUT IT MUST FEEL GOOD TO KNOW HOW MUCH HE WAS LOVED AND THAT YOUR LOSS IS SHARED AND THAT HE WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN. MORE IMPORTANTLY, I THINK, IS HOW HE WILL BE REMEMBERED--WITH JOY AND A BIG SMILE. THAT IS A GREAT LEGACY! SOMEDAY WHEN YOU THINK OF QUINT IT WON'T BRING A TEAR TO YOUR EYE BUT A SMILE TO YOUR FACE. MY REAL REGRET, NOW, IS THAT I DID NOT GET TO KNOW HIM MUCH BETTER. WHAT A GUY! ALL MY LOVE

Quinton lived next door to my grandmother, Melba Linscheid (who recently passed away). I've spoken to Quinton on several occasions as he offered to watch over my grandmother's house after she had passed. He recently sent me some pictures of his wedding. I spoke with Quinton the weekend prior to his passing and we talked about duck hunting, Roxy, etc...
I didn't know him well but he seemed to be a great guy. I always enjoyed talking with him or playing fetch with my dogs and Roxy in the Delta. His passing is very sad. He will be missed.

To Corrine, Bill, Andy and their families we offer our sincere sympathy and with it a celebration of Quint's life. Our sympathy is for his loss, our celebration is for our privilege of being Quint's neighbors for the 10 years that he lived in Pittsburg from boy to man, from bachelor to husband. He was a great individual, sensistive, fun-loving, amusing, dedicated to those around him especially to Corrine and to Roxy. A defining memory of Quint lives with us thanks to his dedication to doing things to the best of his ability and appropriately. Two days before his wedding, we saw Quint and Corinne delightfully practising their bridal waltz on the driveway next to ours. At the wedding that we were privileged to attend we saw the culmination of that dance practise at the reception when Quint and Corrine so sweetly stepped out. We will always remember the love, sincerity and dedication of himself that Quint put into that moment and, we believe, into his life and relationships with all. You remain Quint, in our hearts.

My hope is that this helps comfort the pain of losing such a great person.
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Just know that everyone that knew Quinton admired him and loved being around him. I will never forget his fond smile. Thank you for making me a better person. Sometimes it seems that only after a person leaves us that we truly appreciate the awesome significance of a single human being. May we never take life for granted.

I had the opportunity to work with Quinton only by email. One could tell that he was always smiling just by the way he communicated and the sincere way he assisted me with my problem. Please accept my deepest sympathy on your great loss and ours. Katy

It was an honor and a privilege to have known and worked with Quinton. One of the most talented people I've ever met who also was a warm, kind, and friendly person. Quinton was a positive influence over everyone. He was a leader, and a friend. We'll miss you Quinton...

Q was a model person: Kind, generous, respectful, thoughtful and cheerful. He was a good listener, and a good colleague. He just intuitively found connections and common ground with those around him. I am honored to have known him.
