Adda Strehle Obituary

ADDA STREHLE Adda R. Strehle, 98, of Lansdale, a former long-time resident of Center Square, passed away April 8, 2012 at Elm Terrace Gardens, Lansdale. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Henry A. Strehle, who died in 1977. Born January 7, 1914 in Philadelphia, Adda was a daughter of the late James P. and Adda (Leatherman) Rossiter. Mrs. Strehle was a very active member of St. Helena's Catholic Church, Blue Bell and also Mary, Mother of the Redeemer, North Wales, where she more recently attended. She volunteered much of her time to Meals on Wheels. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her family. She especially cherished being a grandmother and great-grandmother. Adda is survived by four children, Judy S. King and her husband, Joseph, of Lansdale, Henry A. Strehle and his wife, Loretta, of Hamlin, Etta M. Strehle-Jones and her husband, Bruce, of Apollo Beach, FL, and Tina Sawyer and her husband, John, of Eagleville; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a sister, Priscilla Nelson of Colmar. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Strehle-Popp, who died in 2002, and two brothers, James and Louis Rossiter. A viewing will be held 9 to 9:45AM Saturday, April 14 at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Church, 1325 Upper State Road, North Wales, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10AM. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Norristown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Adda's memory to Meals on Wheels, c/o Montgomery County SAAC, 45 Forest Ave., Ambler, PA 19002. So sad to hear of Adda's passing. My sympathy to the Strehle family. I'll always remember Adda as a kind and hard working woman.
