Carl Thomson Obituary

CARL THOMSON Carl D. Thomson, 81, a 50 year resident of Souderton passed away March 25, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late William and Pearl (Detweiler) Thomson. He previously lived in Telford Carl had worked at the former Granite Hosiery Mill in Souderton, where he met his wife of 50 years, Susan (DiGiovanni) Thomson. After serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, he worked for the United States Postal Service, retiring in 1989, after 35 years of service. Carl always enjoyed spending time with his cherished family; weekends at the family mountain home; reading his daily newspapers and was an auto racing enthusiast. Surviving, in addition to his wife, Susan, are his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Julia and Philip Diliberto; nieces and nephews, Gerri Smith and her husband, Lou, Philip Diliberto and his wife, Rhonda, Michael Bono and his wife, Kathy, Diane Bell and her husband, Jim, Andrea Strawman and her husband, Tim, and Charles Bono and his wife, Julie; and 18 loved grandnieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law and brother-law, Theresa and Charles Bono. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Tuesday, March 29, between 10 and 11AM in Christ Reformed Church at Indian Creek, 171 Church Road, Telford and to attend the Funeral Service at 11AM. Interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Parish Cemetery, Lansdale. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to either the American Lung Assoc., 527 Plymouth Road, Suite 403, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462 or a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
