CHRISTINE M. GERHARD Christine M. Gerhard, 80, formerly a long time resident of Glenside and North Wales, passed away January 5, 2014 at the Fairview Care Center in Philadelphia. She was the wife of the late Donald L. Post and Edward O. Gerhard. Born September 7, 1933 in Anderson, IN, she was the daughter of the late Dwight D. and Agnes R. (Trappe) McKinney. Christine was raised in Glenside and graduated from Abington High School. She went on to attend Abington Memorial Hospital Dixon School of Nursing and later earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Temple University. A registered nurse for over 50 years, Christine possessed a broad range of experience including caring for pre-mature babies, geriatrics, those struggling with drug & alcohol addiction, and also working as a visiting nurse. In addition, Christine loved to be outside gardening or spending time with her family and grandchildren who she cherished dearly. Surviving are her children, Timothy A. Post and his wife, Pamela, of Blooming Glen, Donna L. Ardiff and her husband, Robert, of Abington, Judith L. Rose and her husband, William, of Roslyn, and Lisa Kochersperger and her husband, Kenneth of Schwenksville; eight grandchildren, John (Lauren) Matthew, Robert, Emily, Rachel, Laura, Hannah, and Scott; and two great-grandchildren, Brielle and McKenna. She also leaves behind her brother, Donald D. McKinney and his wife, Patricia, of Robesonia. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her half-brother, Charles McKinney. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family from 10-11 AM, Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Grace Community Church, 300 Highpoint Dr., Chalfont, PA 18914 followed by the memorial service at 11 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Christine's name to the Alzheimer's Association, 399 Market St., Ste. 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
