Dolores Salter Obituary

DOLORES SALTER Dolores A. (Calvello) Salter, of Lansdale, affectionately known as "GeeGee", passed away July 10, 2013, at Doylestown Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late William F. Salter, Sr., who passed away in 1991. Born February 4, 1930 in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Josephine (Marazzi) Calvello. A proud graduate of West Catholic High School, class of 1947, GeeGee played violin in the school band. She later met and married her husband, William, Sr., and the two would later relocate to the Lansdale area, where they raised their three children. Although being a wife and mother was number one, GeeGee also worked for G.E. while living in Philadelphia, and in Lansdale, for Leeds & Northrup and the Distelfink Bakery. GeeGee was an excellent cook, enjoyed doing crafts of any kind and was an excellent artist. She also loved roller skating and playing the piano. Above all else, she will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, who was extremely proud of her family, and for her caring nature and kind spirit which will be treasured by all who knew her. Surviving are her children, Linda M. Burbank and her husband, David, of Hatfield, William F., Jr. and his wife, Connie, of Quakertown, and Patricia L. Cunningham and her husband, Glenn, of Lansdale; her beloved grandchildren, Ann Nyce and her husband, Darren, Diana Blastic and her husband, Jason, Theresa Ramsey and her husband, Andrew, William F. Salter, III, and his wife, Tiffany, Steven Salter and his wife, Jamie, Carol Homa and her husband, Jonas, Jeanette Voytko and her husband, Nate, and Anna Marie, David, and Mary Cunningham; and her great-grandchildren, Madyson, Justin, Victoria, Alexis, Allison, Tyler, Lia, Kaylee, Parker, Laina, and Eveleigh, with three more great-grandchildren on the way. She also leaves behind many loving relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Elmer, Edward, John, and Anna Marie Calvello. GeeGee's viewing will be held from 6 to 9PM, Sunday, July 14, at the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale. Another viewing will be held from 9 to 9:45AM, Monday, July 15, at Corpus Christi Church, 900 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, followed by the Funeral Mass at 10AM. Interment will follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation, 1 Valley Square, Ste. 133, Blue Bell, PA 19422.

Grandmom you are already missed we are glad you are now home with Grandpop after 22 years of us all loving and missing him. I have so much to Thank you for but my favorite thing is of you introducing me to Andrew Ramsey & if it wasn't for you being invited to the picnic that you asked me to go with you that I wouldn't have my husband or little bundle of joy who is keeping a smile on my face remembering you. I am so honored you were able to be part of Allison's life even if it was for 5 months. Love you Grandmom and GeGe(for Alli)
