Susan Kronstain of Franconia Township passed away August 2, 2023 following a brief illness. She was 75. Survivors include her beloved husband of 53 years, Lawrence Kronstain, daughters Jennifer Lynn Kronstain and Melissa Ann (Kronstain) Ziembicki, son-in-law David Allen Ziembicki, and grandson Samuel David Ziembicki. Susan's gracious smile and compassionate nature â€" as a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend â€" will be her enduring legacy. She had an uncanny ability to remember birthdays, anniversaries, and important dates, always reaching out to those in mourning as well. With intentional grace and a full heart, everyone around her knew she cared and that she had them in her prayers â€" in good times and bad. Susan had an inherent love for children. While Jennifer and Melissa were attending West Broad Street Elementary School, she volunteered as a reading group leader for second graders and served as an officer in its Home and School Association. She also shared her own interest in art throughout the Souderton Area School District as an Art Goes to School facilitator. Many in the community will remember Susan as a patient service representative in the healthcare industry, as well. For nearly two decades, her empathy and warmth impacted hundreds of families in the region through her work at the North Penn Visiting Nurses Association, Genesis Healthcare, and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Specialty Care and Surgery Center (Bucks County). She went on to volunteer in retirement at Lansdale Abington Hospital and Generations. Susan took great solace in nature and her faith. Whether on the beach in
Cape May Point, NJ or tending to the seasonal flowers she planted in her backyard, she connected with the world in ways that were both spiritual and contemplative. She was known to say cutting the grass on the tractor was her form of therapy. She also found joy in music and entertainment, contributing vocals to St. Maria Goretti's guitar ensemble during Mass and lending her voice to ecumenical choirs during the holiday season. She and Larry frequently attended live performances at the Montgomery Theater, Town & Country Players, and concerts in and around Philadelphia. She especially loved the Voices of Gwynedd. Christmas was known to last nearly three months in her house â€" from early November in preparation for Thanksgiving to the end of January, when she and Larry would head South for their annual month-long stay in
Marco Island, FL. Travel was one of the many blessings they enjoyed before and during retirement. Trips to Hawaii, Ireland, Italy, Alaska, and the Caribbean were just a few of their adventures. Most important, though, were the visits to the Pacific Northwest to see their grandson, Sam, and be part of his earliest milestones. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in her name to
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital,
Shriners Hospitals for Children or Washington Outdoor School. Services will be private with a celebration of life planned for a later date. Arrangements by the Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, Inc.,
