A. Jeanne Snyder, nee Rust, 100, of Columbus, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at Four Seasons Retirement Center. She was born January 11, 1925, in Columbus, to Archie Dale and Reba (Shaver) Rust. They preceded her in death.
Jeanne was a graduate of Columbus High School before continuing her education at Indiana University. She married Isham Keith Snyder on her 23rd birthday, January 11, 1948. Together they built a loving home in Mead Village to raise their children, Melanie Jo and Brian Keith.
When her children were older, Jeanne returned to the workforce and had a fulfilling career at Cummins, Inc. After retirement, she enjoyed helping brides-to-be working at Joy's Bridal Shop.
Jeanne was a devout member of First Lutheran Church where she found community her entire life. Her father, Dale Rust, convinced a farmer to sell some of his land to the church where it currently stands on 25th Street.
Jeanne was a member of Order of Eastern Star and Daughters of the American Revolution. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling and hobbies such as golf, dancing, fishing, bowling, playing cards, and rooting for the Hoosiers in all sports. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, Isham; daughter, Melanie; and sister, Ann Alvis.
Jeanne is survived by her son, Brian (Nancy) Snyder of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Kimberly Culp, Megan Morales, Brian Snyder, II, and Chance Snyder; and great-grandsons, Hudson and Wyatt Morales. Also surviving are nieces, Laurel (C.O.) Weddle, Raina (Pat) Childs, Paula Alvis, and Lisa Hehe; nephew, Jay Alvis; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Jeanne's thoughtfulness, wit, honesty, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A private inurnment will be held at Garland Brook Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the team from Four Seasons Health Center for their care during the final years of Jeanne's life.
