Angel Mercado II Obituary

Angel Luis Mercado II, 50, of Indianapolis passed from this life on Friday, October 31, 2025, at 9:46 a.m. at his home.

Born in Columbus, Indiana on December 7, 1974, Angel was the cherished son of Angel Luis Mercado and Barbra A. Belardo. His infectious smile and benevolent spirit were a beacon of joy to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Angel's legacy is proudly carried on by his thriving family, including his four children, with his eldest son DeMarco Mercado residing in Louisville, Kentucky; mother, Barbra A. Belardo of Franklin; father and step-mother, Angel and Elizabeth Mercado of Columbus; his siblings, Angelito Carmelo F. Mercado, Edwin Belardo, Jose Belardo II, and Maria Mercado; along with a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives who will miss him dearly.

Angel was preceded in death by his sister, Eena Iris Belardo, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Angel's spirit was shaped by his early connection to his faith, having been christened and a lifelong member of the Christ the King Catholic Church in Bronx, New York. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish and successfully manage A & D Logistics, through which he channeled his passion for hard work and dedication to service. Outside of his professional life, Angel cherished moments spent with his loyal dog, Rocco, and enjoyed working out with his best friend, Enrique, training for Spartan Races.

Among Angel's array of passions were his love for travel, with Puerto Rico holding a special place in his heart. Sporting events involving his niece were highlights on his calendar, and he took great pleasure in the simple joy of spending quality time with his nieces.

Angel's life was distinguished by his kindness, his friendly demeanor, and his adventurous spirit, leaving behind an indelible mark on the hearts of those he met. The loss of Angel Luis Mercado II is profoundly felt, but his memory will continue to inspire kindness and a zest for life in all who were fortunate enough to cross his path. As we bid farewell to Angel, we celebrate a life earnestly lived, full of love, and an unwavering commitment to family and friends.

This was such a shocker to me. He was a very good friend. We also worked out together. Had plenty of memories. May he rest in peace and God bless to his family and friends. My deepest condolences and sympathies.

I have so many memories with Angel, but the last one was him taking me an another friend to lunch at Applebees. He will be terribly missed. My love and prayers are with all his family and friends.
