Diana May Wright

Diana May Wright, 74, of Columbus, passed from this life at 9:45 a.m. Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Kindred Hospital in Indianapolis.

Mrs. Wright was born August 14, 1944, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Robert Earl and Mayme Adella Gurney Hunter.

On September 9, 1985, she married James A. Wright; he preceded her in death November 29, 2012.

Mrs. Wright worked at Ary-Way and Target retiring after many years of service.

She was a former member of the Tyson Temple Methodist Church in Versailles. Mrs. Wright was a member of the Columbus General Baptist Church where she was reaffirmed and baptized.

She cherished the fun times she spent with her family and friends and she enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting and attending church.

Mrs. Wright is survived by her children, Jimmy E. Hoppus Jr. of Columbus, Jacqueline (David) Buzzard of Burnsville and Jennifer (Tom) Galloway of Burnsville; grandchildren, Joshua (Emmalee) Buzzard of Hartsville, Jeremiah (Tracey) Buzzard of Trafalgar, Kayla Buzzard and her fiance, Manuel Acevedo of Seymour, Emily Galloway of Burnsville, Celina M. Hoppus of Greensburg and Andres Galloway of Burnsville; seven great-grandchildren; her sister, Roberta Heyman of South Carolina, her brother, Jerry W. (Mary-Jane) Hunter of Madison; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her father, Robert Earl Hunter; her mother, Mayme Adella Adams; her husband, James A. Wright; and a daughter, Deanna Marie Hoppus.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Larry Duncan officiating.

Family and friends may gather for visitation from 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.

In keeping with Mrs. Wright's wishes, cremation will take place following the funeral service.
