Frank W. Armuth

Frank W. Armuth, 86, of Columbus, passed from this life at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Four Seasons Health Care Center.

Mr. Armuth was born November 27, 1933, the son of Elmer C. and Minnie L. Arnholt Armuth.

He married Janice A. Harrison December 31, 1955.

Mr. Armuth was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church where he served on numerous boards and committees and spent several years serving on the hospital board.

He was U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War serving from 1954 to 1956. Before being drafted he attended Franklin College.

Mr. Armuth was a retired farmer, at the age of 34 he was the recipient of the Outstanding Young Farmer Award.

While farming, he also operated his own seed business and a certified SPF hog business.

A horse enthusiast, he owned two horses that raced at Louisville Downs.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 64 years; children, Kent (Debbie) Armuth of West Lafayette, David (Chris) Armuth of Columbus and Julie (Rick) Patberg of Columbus; grandchildren; Chad (Emily) Armuth ,Christopher (Amber) Armuth, Cole (Audrey) Armuth, Connor Armuth, Jennifer (Jon) Hurt, Katie (Bobby) Schadenfroh, David (Lacie) Armuth, Andrew (Jenny) Montgomery, Ryan Montgomery, Megan (Jeff) Suhre, Sydney Patberg, Kelsey Patberg and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister's Evelyn Tucker and Nancy Wichman.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Mark Teike officiating.

Family and friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to time of service Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at the church.

Private inurnment will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church "Together We Live 2.0" or St. Peter's Lutheran Church through the funeral home.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to all the staff at Four Seasons Healthcare Center. Excellent care and attention was provided to Frank, and his family, during his 6 month stay.
