Mary Grady Obituary

Mary Elizabeth "Marybeth" Grady, 85, went to be with her Heavenly Father on October 12th, 2025. Mary was born to John and Irene (Friebe) Lehman on March 1st, 1940, in Giddings, Texas.

Mary was preceded in death by her three siblings: Julius (JC) Lehman of Cedar Creek, Texas; Geraldine Starr of Tomball, Texas; and Joyce Prentiss of Bedford Ohio.

From Texas, Mary moved to Kokomo, Indiana and on March 28th, 1960, she married Joe Grady Jr., who preceded her in death on April 2nd, 2007. Together they raised three children: Vicki Garner of Russiaville, IN; Curt Grady, along with his wife Anita, of Arlington, Texas; and Michael Grady, with his wife Erika, of Columbus, IN. Together, they were able to bless Mary with six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. All of whom gave Mary great pride and joy.

A Texas girl at heart, Mary often spoke of her early life there, and one could find Texas-themed items in every room of her home.

She enjoyed being a wife and mother, and the time she spent as a Sunday school and preschool teacher brought her great joy and many fond stories and memories.

She enjoyed keeping up with all the goings on with her children and grandchildren with all their milestones and different interests ... and of course Daisy, her cat, brought her so much joy and companionship that we couldn't possibly leave her out.

Her later years offered physical challenges, as it does for so many, but she stayed in the Word daily and served as an example of how to keep forging ahead with the hope for a better tomorrow. God never promised us that there would never be pain, sorrow, or difficulties in our lives. But he has promised to give us strength, comfort, and a light to show the way through.

Following Mary's wishes cremation will take place and no services are planned at this time. Arrangements by Barkes, Weaver and Glick Funeral Home. Condolences and special memories may be shared with the Grady family at barkesweaverglick.com.
