Paul A. Belding, 88, of North Vernon, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and cherished member of his community, peacefully passed away on August 1, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on November 12, 1936, in Seymour, Indiana, Paul lived a life filled with love, laughter, and deep connections with family and friends.
Paul was a dedicated restaurant manager, proudly managing the Arby's Restaurant in North Vernon for eight years, and made significant contributions as a former personnel manager at North Vernon Forge. He also served his community as a Farm Bureau Insurance agent, and managed Farm Bureau in Brown County, showcasing his commitment to helping others. He had co-owned Belding Sporting Goods with his brother Jim, served as president of Muscatatuck Country Club, Jaycees, and the Country Club in Brown County. He was also a member of the Mason's and Scottish Rite.
Paul was a member of the First United Methodist Church in North Vernon. He recently found fellowship at Seymour Christian Church with his wife, Geneva, where he was surrounded by the warmth of his faith and community.
Paul's love for family and the great outdoors were constants in his life. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of hunting and fishing, creating lasting memories with family and friends. He is survived by his loving daughter Paula Pratt and son-in-law Ed Pratt of Auburndale, FL, and son Jeffrey Belding of Butlerville. He will also be deeply missed by his grandchildren Susan Belding, Paul A. Belding, and Jane Belding, as well as his beloved sister, Sheila Heath of North Vernon.
Paul will be remembered for his kind heart, generous spirit, and unwavering love for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion that will resonate in the lives he touched.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, James Belding, mother, Violet Belding, wife, Geneva Belding, brother, James M. Belding, and sisters, Donna Thompson, and Barbara Moore.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 24th from 12:00 - 3:00 pm at First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.
