Our Mother's birthday was last Saturday. She passed away an hour and a half shy of her 75th birthday. There are not enough words to tell about the love we have for Mom. Our hearts are broken.
God needed someone to help with the plant garden, and He chose her. Oh, how beautiful that garden must be. Ruby Jewell Scott, born on December 13,1950, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, after a bravely fought battle with COPD. Her love, openness, and nonjudgemental spirit made her cherished by everyone who knew her.
On May 17, 1969, Ruby married Bobby Ray Scott. Together, they shared many years of marriage and raised two sons. She is survived by her husband Bobby; her eldest son, Daniel Scott (Dr. Romeo Ambrosio); her youngest son, Teddy Scott (Brian Dunkley and Clayton Wones). She is also survived by her first grandson, Levi Jewell Scott-Ambrosio, whom she loved and adored beyond measure. He will proudly carry her name forever. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Poynter (Glenn Poynter), with whom she shared an especially close bond, having stood by one another through thick and thin, all their lives. She had numerous deceased siblings, amongst them, Herbert Bragg and Little Johnny Bragg. Ruby also viewed her nieces and nephew as her own children and is survived by her nieces, Connie Burton (Bill Burton); and Sandra Condra (Kevin Condra) (favorite nurse); her nephew, David Poynter. Ruby is also survived by two nieces that are like sisters to her, Faye Word (Danny Word); and Roberta Ward (Russell Ward). She has a very close co-grandmother whom she loved dearly, Joan Scott-Ambrosio (Morris Ambrosio). A close family-friend, Rosanne Perrine (Butter), and Lisa Wones. Ruby loved her great nieces and nephews, Matt Wooten (Cortnie Wooten), Brittany Ray, Cierra Condra, Skylar Condra, Dillan Condra, Nick Poynter, Luke Poynter, Lori Burton (Dustin), Brantley Ray, Audryanna Ray, Logan Thompson, Charlotte Burton, Eli Canady, Grace Canady, and Levi Law.
This story could not have happened without Ruby's parents (deceased), Bessie and William Bragg.
Ruby had a joyful spirit and a kind heart. She enjoyed fishing, bowling, Yahtzee, and 50's music. She had a special love for animals and cared for many in her yard. She worked for many years at Lincoln Elementary, where her warmth, generosity, and gentle nature touched the lives of many.
