Joanne Gilligan Obituary

Joanne Badeau Gilligan
Joanne was born on April 21, 1953, in Brooklyn, New York, to Edward and Patricia (Cowhey) Badeau. She was a longtime resident of Ridgefield, Connecticut, and a 1971 graduate of Ridgefield High School. Early in her career, Joanne worked at PerkinElmer in Norwalk, Connecticut, where she lived for several years. In the early 1980s, she returned to Ridgefield and worked at Ridgefield Bank.
Joanne's greatest contributions and deepest joys came from her family, whom she cherished above all else. She was actively involved in her children's school and sports activities, always present and supportive. Joanne loved spending time in the sun, being with animals, and making memories with her loved ones.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jay Patrick Gilligan; her three children, Aimee Wright Trott and her husband Adam, Jay Edward "JJ" Gilligan and his wife Caroline, and Michael Patrick Gilligan; and two beloved grandchildren, Payton and Paige Trott.
A ceremony will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery in Ridgefield, on Monday November 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery. In celebration of Joanne's life, family and friends are invited to enjoy one of her favorite treats afterward, a vanilla ice cream cone at Debra Ann's on Main Street.
Joanne will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
