Pamela Bennett Obituary

Pamela Jane Bennett, 76, passed away peacefully, surrounded by friends and family, on Monday, June 30, 2025, in Timonium, Maryland, after a 6-month illness.

Pam was born on March 17, 1949, in Stamford, CT, to Harry R. Bennett and Margaret S. Bennett. The second of five children, she grew up in Ridgefield, CT. Pam attended St Mary's School and graduated from Ridgefield High School in 1967. She received a bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 1971 and first worked in Washington, DC and Maryland. Her initial field was social work with adoptive children. She married Dr. David Rorison in 1981 and settled in a beautifully wooded home in Towson, MD to raise her three children, Margaret, Tyler and Eve.

Pam was a highly prolific, creative and talented costume designer and fabric artist. She worked tirelessly for twenty years as the primary costume designer and seamstress for numerous theatrical productions of the Park School of Baltimore.

A compassionate and selfless mother, she was also a talented and enthusiastic cook and dessert chef. She took joy in creating incredibly delicious meals at holidays and events over decades for family and friends to enjoy.

A warm, kind, generous, loving, talented and very funny soul, she instilled those traits and values into her children.

Pam loved gardening, sewing, embroidery, travel, and antiquing; she had a warm place in her heart for Cape Cod, Massachusetts and the Outer Banks in N.C. She was also a fantastic swing and lindy dancer, and developed many dear friendships over the years as she continued to dance in events throughout the Baltimore area.

She took great joy in her family; in recent years she found happiness in being "Gammy Pam" to her young grandson, Heath. Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Margaret. She is survived by her children, Margaret Rorison, Tyler Rorison, and Eve Rorison, her husband David, grandson Heath, daughter-in-law Corrin, and son-in-law Kevin. She is also survived by her sister Deborah and brother-in-law Manu, brother Harry and sister-in-law Demetra, brothers Michael and Thomas, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Memorial announcements will be forthcoming.

So sorry to hear. She was a great gal as all the Bennett kids were. As a neighbor we were at the Bennett house quite a bit, me, Mary Ellen and Philip. We still have an old picture floating around Mr. Bennett took for the Good Housekeeping magazine. We were gathered around a trunk full of toys. Those were good days, right schrodey?
God Bless you all!! Very sorry to hear about Pam!
