Luther Short Obituary

LEWES - Luther A. "Sonny" Short, Jr., of Lewes, DE, formerly of Hillsboro, Md., died Sunday, September 29, 2013, at home. He was 89 years old. Born in Hillsboro on the family farm on March 23, 1924, Mr. Short was the son of the late Luther Aaron Short, Sr. and Helen Dora Short. He had attended the Tri-County High School in Queen Anne and had been a farmer for most of his life. For the past 17 years, he has lived with his son, Luther A. "Luke" Short III and his wife Jane of Lewes. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Jane Short; and their son, Joseph Moore Short who both died on June 6, 1970. In addition to his son Luke, Mr. Short is survived by another son, Mark G. Vrablic and his wife Carrie of Wanchese, N.C.; and two sisters, Helen L. Ballard and Sarah F. Marsh, both of Lewes. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday, October 4, 2013 at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S. Second Street in Denton, Md. where friends may visit with the family from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday evening. The interment will be in the Denton Cemetery.
