Rolla - Robert Bennett Ryce, of Rolla, MO, passed away September 2, 2021 at the age of 79.
He was born in Rolla to the late Harry and Reva (Myers) Ryce.
On August 14, 1963, he married Judith Herrman, and they were later blessed with two daughters.
Robert loved his family fiercely. He was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather. He was the glue that held his family together and the rock that stood behind them. He was their best friend, greatest teacher, and biggest supporter and was loved endlessly. He was a successful businessman, most known for being owner and operator of J & R Rentals, J & R Distributing, and co-owner of Independent Property Management. He loved his hobby farm, crappie fishing at the Lake of the Ozarks, pheasant hunting, and truck rides with his beloved dog, Champ.
He will be deeply missed by his surviving family which includes his wife of fifty-eight years, Judith Ryce, of Rolla; two daughters, Diana Hendren and husband Craig of O'Fallon, MO, and Mindy Ryce of Rolla; one brother, Harry Ryce of Winston-Salem NC; five grandchildren, Ryan Kraft, Trevor Moon, Mallory Kraft, Kylie Sparks and husband Brandan, and Natalie Hendren; other extended family members and dear friends.
A funeral service for Robert Ryce will be held at 3:30 pm Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla. Interment will follow in the Rolla City Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service Tuesday beginning at 2:30 pm at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions in his memory are suggested to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or Wounded Warriors.
