Gladys Waldroup

Gladys Howard Waldroup, 74, of the Silvermine Community, entered her Heavenly home where she was met by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; her father and mother, Greely and Joyce Howard; and brother, Vernon Howard; along with many family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, of 53 years, Nathan Waldroup; son, Bill (Cynthia) Waldroup; daughters, Donita (Timmy) Guest and Melissa (Darrell) Lakey; grandchildren, Aubrey (Corey) O'Dell, Dylan Lakey, Tristan and Joy Guest, Neil (Katie) Waldroup, Megan (Lee) Galloway and Drew (Kayla) Silvers; great-grandchildren, Cooper and Sophie O'Dell, Adriana Waldroup, Alyssa and Laney Galloway and Luke, Parker, and Lenny Silvers; brother, Ed (Jan) Howard of Blue Ridge; sister, Shelia (Bobby) Morris of Candler; sister-in-law, Ella Vee (Vernon) Howard; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and so many more family and friends.
Proverbs 31:10 Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price [is] far above rubies. Gladys is a member of the Unity Missionary Baptist Church. She exemplifies this verse. She has influenced so many others always pointing them towards Christ. She never met a stranger and truly showed herself friendly and was a strong and steady friend to many.
Gladys fought different cancers throughout her life as a warrior. Her faith in God has carried so many of us when our faith was weak although she has fought more physical battles than most of us will ever endure. She stayed positive, gave God all the glory, witnessed and shared her testimony with everyone and always said, "God's got this!"
Gladys will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Her sincere desire would be that we meet her in Heaven. If you aren't saved, you can be! Admit you are a sinner, believe on Jesus Christ and accept Him as your savior, confess your sins and you shall be saved! She will be shouting on the streets of Glory knowing you will meet her in Heaven.
Funeral services were held 12 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Kelly Andrews and Kenny Ball officiated. Burial followed at Dan Springs Cemetery. The family received friends from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday at the Funeral Home.
