Linda Tinsley Obituary
BRYSON CITY - Linda Jones Tinsley passed away peacefully at 6 a.m., Friday, Sept. 6, 2024. She is survived by and will be greatly missed by her son, Jason (Tracy) Pope; daughter, Crissy Pope; granddaughter, Rachel Pletcher; grandson, Eric Sobecki; and siblings, Bragg (Kathy) Jones, Kathy Mathis and June (Charles) Sisti.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Tinsley.
Linda lived a full life, filled with remarkable achievements and experiences. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and wife. She was a proud graduate of Western Carolina University (Class of 1990), where she earned her bachelor's degree in accounting. Linda dedicated 25 years of her career as an auditor for the State of Tennessee, a role she was still working in at the time of her passing. Linda was a force of nature, taking pride in her Nashville home of over 20 years by mowing her own yard and undertaking several DIY remodeling projects. She embraced life to the fullest, enjoying domestic and international travel with friends and family. Linda's upbringing, as the fifth of nine children, instilled in her an unquestionable work ethic and an unstoppable drive to achieve everything she set out to accomplish.
Linda's faith in Christ was unwavering and she believed in the Holy Trinity of God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit. Her legacy of hard work, determination and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Linda will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. Her memory will continue to inspire, and her spirit will live on through those whose lives she touched.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024, in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services. Burial followed at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Bryson City.
The family received friends from 4 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 10 at Appalachian Funeral Services.
