Norman Maney Obituary

BRYSON CITY - Norman "Buster" Maney, 91, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025. A native of Swain County and longtime resident of Warren, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late James and Verna Martin Maney.
He was a member of the Deep Creek Missionary Baptist Church and a US Navy Veteran during the Korean Conflict. He was a loving husband. He loved the outdoors and never met a stranger. He loved to visit and talk to people.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Mike, Dan, George and Pat Maney; sisters, Myrtle, Ann, Roberta and Betty; first wife, Delores "Dee Dee" and their daughter, Donna Jean and son, Kevin; his grandson, Dennis and great-grandson, Timmy.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Maney; children, Joyce (Dennis), Joe (Shelby) and Karen (Mark); stepdaughters, Barbara (Bob) McHan and Linda (Carlos) Gunter; eight grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 3, at Deep Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Mike Cogdill officiated. The family received friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesday at the church.
