Glenn Holland Obituary

Glenn Allen Holland, 56, of Norwood, beloved husband and father, died Wednesday morning, Dec. 2, 2009, at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle.The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Friday evening at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at Porter Baptist Church. The Rev. Flynn Richardson will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery. Glenn was born Dec. 22, 1952, in Neosho, Mo. He was a son of the late Willard James and Oma Mae Smith Holland. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of Porter Baptist Church and a truck driver with Walmart.He is survived by his wife, Karen Byrum Holland of the home; two sons, Nicholas Holland of Rogers, Ark., and Brian Baucom and wife Lauren of Carolina Beach; a daughter, Melissa Holland of Bentonville, Ark.; a sister, Janice Coberly of Jane, Mo.; and a brother, R J Holland of Green Forrest, Ark.He was preceded in death by a brother, Rex Holland.Memorials may be made to: Hospice of Stanly County, 929 N.
