Bary was both a relative and friend, and I´ll miss him. My late wife of 51 years, Mary Rose, was his cousin. I met him in 1953 when Mary Rose was staying with his mom in an apartment on 4th St. in LA. Bary played the bagpipes in their closet so the noise wouldn´t disturb the other residents, but still received complaints from up to a block away. He helped me get a summer job with his company, California Hardware in LA. At that time, he talked about having recently been stationed in Japan in the army during the Korean War. Later he finished college on the GI bill and had a good teaching career, which he humorously referred to as "zookeeping". He was justifiably proud of his excellent family and of his Scottish roots.
