Jack Leeper Obituary

COELLO - Jack W. Leeper, 55, died Sunday, April 26, 2009, in Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2009, in Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher, with Brother Bert Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Zeigler City Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Leeper worked at American Coal in Galatia.

He was of Baptist faith and was a 15-year member of Coello Fire Department.

He was born June 1, 1953, in Herrin to Earl L. Leeper and Barbara (Goosetree) Pearson of Johnston City.

He married Vivian (Overturf) Leeper; she survives in Coello.

Other survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Corey and Alyson Leeper of Christopher; grandchild, Bryce Leeper; brother, Larry Leeper of Murphysboro; and sister, Cindi Jarvis of Bush.

He was preceded in death by his father.

I was so sorry to hear about Jack. Even though I didn't know him for long I did feel very close to him. He was a great person whom I am proud to have known, even though we met under such circumstances. My thoughts and prayers go out to you. He will be missed.
