My first memory of Joe and Elizabeth is when we were all to meet in Las Vegas
for a 4 old buddies Navy reunion which they tried to do every year or two. I think John was always the instigator and organizer. I was new at the gathering, so a little uncomfortable which was normal for me around new people. Joe was always warm and welcoming. Jim, my husband, had told stories about their navy years and he always did it so it sounded fun with all their individual antics and with all the happening between them. When Jim was so sick with Parkinson's Disease, he did not want to be seen as anything except as he had been 50 years before. So he told non of the group except John. But one day, I'll never forget, Joe, John, Mick and Mary, showed up to see Jim who had been hiding because he no longer could do many things. He didn't know what to say or how to act. He never forgot their kindness. Nothing ever moved him more than that visit from his friends.

Served with Joe in the navy in attack squadron 52 and enjoyed good times in Japan and all over the fareast. He always made people laugh. We had several get togethers with old buddies and tried to stay in touch as much as possible, he will be missed by all.
