Mildred Unger Obituary

HERRIN -- Mildred M. Unger, 82, passed away at 6:22 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Mildred was born Jan. 25, 1929, in Paulton to Robert E. and Dora (Rector) Klope.

She married Robert Unger on Nov. 23, 1967, in Marion. He preceded her in death April 16, 2002.

She was retired from Olin Corp and attended Christian Life Center.

Survivors include son, Roger E. Tolbert and wife, Sara, of Herrin; daughters, Gayla Martie and husband, Charles, of Elkville; Andrea Lineberry of Herrin; Malinda Nay and husband, Don, of Tucson, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Robert L. Klope and wife, Malinda, of Paducah; and four nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and one brother, Clyde Klope.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, in Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with the Revs. Don Colson and Susan Burnett officiating. Burial will be in Worley Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 11 to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home, 201 S. 13th St., Herrin, IL 62948.
