SPARTA - Richard Andrew Hall, 47, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, in Sparta.
He was born on Sept. 21, 1965, in Murphysboro, to George W. Hall and Edith B. Cox.
Richard served in the U.S. Navy during Desert Storm. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sparta, Legion Riders, American Legion, VFW Eagles, Local 702 IBEW and past member of the Sparta Fire Department. Richard was employed at Hall Electric.
Billi Jo (Bumann) Hall, 47, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013 in Sparta.
She was born on June 2, 1966, in Sparta, to Billie Joe Bumann and Margaret Jane "Sis" Meyer.
Billi married Michael Root on Sept. 23, 1984, and later married Richard Hall. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Sparta, the Sparta Eagles, the American Legion Auxiliary in Sparta, and the VFW Auxiliary in Sparta. Billi Jo was a bank teller at the First National Bank of Sparta.
Richard is survived by one daughter, Shelby (Brandan) Renner of Percy; two sons, Richard Zachery Hall of Sparta and Gailen Dalton Hall of Sparta; two sisters, Georgia Hall of Sparta and Patricia (Tom) Nordmann of Sparta; and one brother, Kenneth (Polly) Hall of Sparta.
Richard is joined in heaven with his parents; and three brothers, Joseph, Jeffrey and David.
Billi Jo is survived by her parents, Billie Joe and Margaret Bumann of Sparta; two daughters, Hannah Beth (Alex) Linder of Fairview Heights and Rachel Renae (Friend Kent Blunt) Root of Collinsville; one sister, Becky (Mark) Trost of Millstadt; one brother, Blake J. (Nicole) Bumann of Red Bud; first husband, Michael Root.
Billi Jo is joined in heaven with her grandparents; aunts; uncles; her dogs, Roger and Callie; and her cat, Key Key.
They were both survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and all their dogs, cats and chickens. They were anxiously awaiting the birth of their first grandson, Brentley Allen Renner.
Richard and Billi Jo were united in marriage on Sept. 1, 2012, in the American Legion in Sparta. This marriage united both families into one.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the First United Methodist Church in Sparta. Burial will be at Caledonia Cemetery in Sparta. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Memorials may be given to the Randolph County Humane Society or to N.O.R.D.
