COLLINSVILLE - Roger F. Bunselmeyer, 91, of Collinsville, born Dec. 17, 1932, in Cora, passed away on Monday, Feb. 19, 2024, at Aspen Creek of Troy surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Bunselmeyer retired from Granite City Steel after 39 years of service. He honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge East #504 Scottish Rite, St. John United Church of Christ in Collinsville and SOAR.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Corrine (nee Murden) Bunselmeyer; son, Jeffery Bunselmeyer; a sister, Lela Jolley; and a brother, Homer Bunselmeyer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Bonnie (nee Brown) Bunselmeyer, whom he married Nov. 22, 1953; daughter, Laura (Dave) Thompson; grandchildren, Drew Thompson and Lexie (Alex) Smith; and sister, Sharon (Richard) Misuraca.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, 2024, at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville. Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. officiated by Rev. Katie Jo Bielke.
Memorials are suggested to Shriner's Hospital or St. John UCC and will be received at the visitation. Memorials can be mailed to Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center St., Maryville, IL 62062.
