Sharon Chapman Obituary
Sharon was born Sept. 8, 1943, in Oakdale, a daughter to William Stanley and Virginia (McClay) Coulter.
On Jan. 31, 1962, she married Jerry Chapman in Oakdale, and he survives. Sharon was a member of the Oakdale Presbyterian Church. She previously worked at the Oakdale State Bank and the Pinckneyville Democrat newspaper. Sharon enjoyed sporting events, music and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She dearly loved raising and caring for her family.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Chapman of Pinckneyville; four children, Jeff Chapman of Pinckneyville, Rod (Cindy) Chapman of Du Quoin, Heather (Ashley) Presswood of Pinckneyville, and Traci Napier of Columbia, 13 grandchildren, Lacy, Mariah, Evan, Steven, Lindsey, Travis, Olivia, Cole, Cade, Chase, Cambri, Aubrey, Kendyl and Rowyn; brother, Marvin Stanley (Karen) Coulter of Herrin; sister, Kay (Harold) Brammeier of Oakdale; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16, in Oak Grove Baptist Church in Pinckneyville, with Brother Rob Mathis and Pastor Ted Clark officiating. Interment will be in Campbell Cemetery in Pinckneyville. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Pyatt Funeral Home in Pinckneyville, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Parkinson Foundation.
