Desiree Lynn Pikyavit

Desiree Lynn Pikyavit, 31, passed away on January 20, 2016 on the Shivwits Reservation. She was born on June 15, 1984 in St. George, Utah to Melvin Jackson and Verdie Marble.

Desiree grew up in Dixie. She graduated from Millcreek High school. She loved the outdoors especially camping, fishing, and hiking. She also enjoyed cooking, drawing and sports.

Desiree loved decorating for the holidays. She enjoyed movies and music of all kinds. She loved braiding and doing people's hair. Desiree was very caring, a great listener and had a big heart. She loved her children and her family and loved planning activities and spending time with them she also enjoyed hanging out with friends laughing and having a good time.

She is survived by her mother, Verdie Marble; her father, Melvin Jackson; 4 children, Devyn Marble, Jordan Zahney, Katelynn Zahney, Krystin Zahney; brothers and sisters, Makyla, Chassis, Lacey, Richard, Shikaya, Preston, McKaylon, Aries, Skyler, Tyler; grandmother, Mildred Pikyavit; grandparents, Annie and Kee Jackson; and grandmother, LaVern Posey. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Dorothy Marble; grandfather, McKay Pikyavit; great grandfather, James Marble; great grandmother, Bertha Cummeral; and step father, Monte Samson.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Spilsbury Mortuary Chapel, 110 S. Bluff, St. George, UT. There will be a viewing prior to services from Noon until time of service at the mortuary. Tuesday evening there will be a Sing at the Paiute Tribal Community Building starting at 7:00 p.m. with a burial Wednesday morning at 8:00 a.m. in the Shivwits Cemetery.
