Jerry Samuel Coleman returned to his Heavenly Father on December 15, 2014 in Kanab, Utah. He was born to Parley & Esther Peterson Coleman on October 12, 1936 in Boulder, Utah. Jerry was the 13th of 14 children. He married RosaLie Porter on November 6, 1958 in Escalante, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple. Jerry & RosaLie moved to Kanab shortly after their marriage. They have four children; Sandy, Cindy, Wade, and Darrin.

Jerry & RosaLie owned and managed several businesses in Kanab, including Jerry's 66, Country Kitchen, Coleman's Exxon, and most recently, Coleman's Sinclair.

He served in many positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was also active in the community serving as a member of the Kanab Fire Department and Kanab City Power Board. Jerry also volunteered with the Kane County Search & Rescue.

He enjoyed being in the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and hiking in the hills in and around Kanab and Boulder. He mostly loved being around and teasing family and friends, especially the grandkids and great grandkids.

He is survived by his wife RosaLie, his children; Sandy (Marc) Fox, Cindy (Holly) Forrester, Darrin (Robin) Coleman all of Kanab, 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Fern, Leah, Barbara, Gay, and Clo; brothers, LaFay, Frank, Dan & Don. He was preceded in death by his parents Parley & Esther Coleman; his son Wade Coleman; great-granddaughter Serenity Coleman; brother Hyrum Coleman; and sisters Bessie Palmer, Edna Button, and Ada Purkey.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 20, 2014, at 11:00am. There will be a viewing on Friday, December 19, from 6:00-7:00 pm and on Saturday, December 20, from 9:30-10:45 am, both at the Kanab Utah Stake Center. Burial will be in the Kanab Cemetery. Arrangements were made with Mosdell Mortuary.
