John Reeve Obituary

John Reeve

Hurricane, UT

Our beloved friend, John Reeve, 61, passed away Friday the 22nd of July 2016. He was born December 15, 1955, in St. George to Ashby "Hap" and Iva Gibson Reeve. He has been married to Annie Stratton Reeve for 42 years.

He was born and raised in Hurricane where he worked most of his life on his family Ranch located on the Arizona Strip. This is where he worked his cattle and loved riding his horses. He was a jack of all trades, master of the minds and a fair windmill hand. If it looked like you needed help he would stop to help even if it delayed his plans. He really enjoyed when October would roll around so he could spend time with his family and friends on the "beer" hunt. He was a man of many words; every person he met he would give them a nickname of what he thought of them. He was a wonderful man that carried a lot of knowledge and will be missed greatly.

He is survived by his wife Annie Reeve of Hurricane; daughters Cassie Reeve and Camie Reeve of Hurricane; Granddaughter Samantha Black of Spanish Fork and new Grandson Dusty Rasmussen of Spanish Fork; sisters Vicky Hansen, Artie Stratton, Iva Lyn Wright and husband, Neil Wright, Bernice Reeve. He is preceded in death by his daughter Candi Reeve and Father Ashby "Hap" Reeve.

A special thank you to Dixie Regional Medical Center and Hospice for all their help.

Graveside services will be Saturday, July 30 at 9:00 AM in the Hurricane City Cemetery. A viewing will be held Friday, July 29 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Spilsbury Hurricane Valley Mortuary, 25 North 2000 West, Hurricane.

Arrangements are under the care of Spilsbury Mortuary, St. George (435) 673-2454. Family and friends are invited to sign his online guestbook at www.spilsburymortuary.com .

John was our neighbor. He let us enjoy his nuts. And we also enjoyed his wonderful eggs. He was a hard working rancher. Dale home taught his family. He always made us laugh. He loved his family. And only wanted the best for them. RIP John

My brother Rick and I have known John as long as I can remember. When we were just little tykes, he used to bring his Shetland Ponies over to ride. We rode from one end of town to the other, but back then Hurricane wasn't very big and it was still safe to do those things.
Those were the days, back when we were 5 or 6 years old, riding ponies or playing in the irrigation water at Grandpas in Hurricane.
Every time we came to town, there was John ,
waiting for Rick to come play. I was grateful they let me come along.
Thanks John for making those summer days so memorable and Thank you for being such a great friend to my brother all these years .
You will be missed.

I'm so sorry to hear of John's passing. I have fond memories of running around on your property shooting birds, catching gold fish in the corral and other things. I'm sure he deservingly hollered at me a couple of times. He'll be missed

We are so very sorry for your loss and our sincere thoughts and prayers we are sending your way. I like the way you put a jack of all trades because on the night I went into labor with my Shelley he was at our house and said never mind the hospital I'll deliver her right here. We will never forget this long time friend from way back. Love always!!
