Margarette Hottel Obituary
St. George
Margarette F. Cooper Stallings Hottel, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, passed into her Father in Heaven's loving arms on April 3, 2017. Margarette was born the first of five daughters to Evan and Glenna Wilkins Cooper on March 17, 1939, in St. George, Utah.
She loved spending time with her family and beloved friends. The old saying, "never met a stranger", was meant for Margarette. Her home was always a safe haven for family, friends and strangers going thru challenging times. She was a spinner, weaver and avid seamstress. Margarette attended numerous renaissance, city and county fairs displaying her spinning and weaving and often volunteered her time at schools teaching children spinning and weaving basics. Many of her grandchildren, nieces and nephews were blessed in the blessing outfits Margarette made for them. Margarette was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved her Heavenly Father deeply. She knew He answered her prayers. Margarette married William Martin Stallings, September 12, 1959. They were sealed in the St. George, Utah temple September 12, 1969 and were married 31 years when Bill passed. She later married John Hottel, they were married 20 years when John passed.
She is survived by four children, Juanita Lori Stallings, Lance (Nancy) Stallings, Tawnee (Cleve) Bowen and Darby (Saskia) Stallings, 14 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and sisters Gail (Hyrum) Smith and Kallie (Arnold) Young.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Evan and Glenna Wilkins Cooper, by two sons, Jerry Allen and Cody Stallings, sisters Christine Marcey and Nola Ungerman.
Margarette will always have a place in the hearts of all those she has touched with her constant kind spirit.
Funeral services will be held April 8, 2017 at the Main Street Chapel, 82 North Main St, Washington, UT. Viewing from 11:00 to 12:30 with funeral services following at 1:00 P.M. Flowers can be sent through Serenity Funeral Home. Friends and family are invited to share condolences online at www.SerenityStG.com. Arrangements and memorial tree planting by the Serenity Funeral Home, 986-2085.

I had many good times with Margarette.. I shall miss her and her kindness.. I had good times with some her kids too.. Cody before he passed.. Tawnie, a sweet person and Lorie.. I will always remember the good conversations we shared and the love we had for each other as good Friends.. Love to you all.. You had a wonderful Mom.. Until we meet again Margarette.. God Bless you!! Say Hi to Cody for me..

I'm glad it was noted in Margarette's obituary that she was a spinner and a weaver. A sweet memory I have of her is making a special trip to my mother's home in Henderson, Nevada, and bringing her spinning wheel. She had mentioned weeks earlier that she would do this and one day she sure did! She showed up in authentic clothing and proceeded to display her talents and educate my grandaughter, Cheyenne, on spinning wheels and weaving. It was fascinating and I was impressed she would keep her word and take time out of her life to do this service, for a little girl. But we all loved it, had many laughs with her and enjoyed her company. She was always a beautiful woman with many talents--her voice was one of the best.

A sweet cousin has honorably served her mission in life. She is now home with loved ones and friends she has missed for so long. We will miss her but know she is happy and enjoying a glorious reunion beyond the veil. God be with you, Margarette, until we meet again. You blessed the lives of those who knew and loved you.

I am so sorry to hear of my sweet neighbors (of many years ago )passing ! I dearly loved her ! I send my love and sympathy to her children and family ! I'm in Washington State visiting so won't be able to attend her services. I wish I could be there to see her kids as we were close growing up with each of you ! I will always remember her kindness and sweet personality! Rest In Peace dear friend you will be missed by many !
