Steven Tyler Pickering, age 26, returned to our Heavenly Father, Thursday, August 22, 2013 after a work related accident on a ranch in Nevada.

He was born in St. George, Utah on June 3, 1987 to Eric and LaDawna Pickering. Steven graduated from Enterprise High School in 2005 and was currently pursuing an aviation degree at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. He was married to his sweet wife, Jessica Johnson, on March 27, 2009 in the St. George LDS Temple and was eagerly anticipating the arrival of their first child in February.Steven was filled with a light and happiness that was contagious to those around him. He had a very great way of loving his neighbor and serving everyone without judgment or hesitation. He was called the fun one, easy going, life of the party, happy, and a hard worker. He had his private pilot's license and enjoyed being in the sky. He loved life and had a heart of a champion.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed sharing the gospel from 2006-2008 on a 2 year mission in Cordoba, Argentina.

His family would like to express gratitude to all the doctors, nurses, and staff at Sunrise Hospital ICU that so tenderly cared for Steven and the love and kindness that has been shown to us at this time.

Steven is survived by his wife, Jessica of Provo, Utah; parents, Eric and LaDawna Pickering of Enterprise, Utah; grandparents, Willard and Ruth Pickering of Enterprise, Utah, Rulon Darrington and Avanell Darrington; siblings, Matthew (Jenny) Pickering of Enterprise, Utah, Erica (Nick) Locke of Salinas, California, Latara Pickering of Enterprise, Utah, Kenni (Zachary) Cole of Kaysville, Utah, Jeremy Pickering of Enterprise, Utah, presently serving in the Georgia Atlanta North Mission; many adoring nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Enterprise LDS Stake Center, 60 South Center Street, Enterprise, Utah. Visitations will be held Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George and on Monday, at the Stake Center in Enterprise at 9:00 a.m., prior to the services. Interment will follow at the Windsor Cemetery in Enterprise, Utah. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673-4221. I was privileged to have Steven as a student in my private pilot ground class this past year.

Jessica. We are so sorry about steven . We didnt get to know you two very well but you both were always so kind and full of a wonderful spirit. Logan was also sad about the news of his new scout leader. We will always remember the talks you both gave in church. May the lord keep you and your new baby to come, comforted and blessed.
