Charles Cecil Railey, age 77, of Railey Lane, Springfield, KY passed away at 8:10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at the Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY. He was born in Washington County, KY on Dec. 9, 1943, to the late James David "J.D." and Rosaline Weathers Railey. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and a retired employee of Armour Food Company. Preceding him in death were two brothers, William David Railey on Sept. 14, 1993, and George Alton Railey on Aug. 9, 1999. Survivors include his wife, Mary Fogle Railey; two sons, Cecil Railey (Pam) of Springfield and Lawrence Railey of Winchester; two daughters, Mary O. Coleman (George) and Teresa D. Railey both of Springfield; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 23 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Rev. Kevin McGrath, officiating. Burial was in the St. Dominic-Holy Rosary Cemetery. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Members of the Players Club. Serving as casket bearers were Quentin Coleman, Justin Railey, Devin Coleman, James Railey, Joseph Railey and William Railey. A prayer service was held at 7 Wednesday evening at the Carey & Son Funeral Home by Rev. Kevin McGrath. Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
