Herbert Derringer Obituary
He was a native of Marion County, born on Feb. 1, 1954, to the late Stanley and Josie McCarty Derringer.
He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, a 1972 graduate of Marion County High School and a life-long farmer.
Surviving him is a sister, Shirley Hays of Gravel Switch, several cousins and a special cat, Shortie.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 12, at Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Clellan Hays, pastor of Grace Baptist Church, officiating. He was assisted by Rev. Jonathan W. Carey.
Burial was on Cemetery Hill in Springfield.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Donald Weakley, Dewayne Weakley, Gil Hutchins, Steve Huffman, Joe Payne, Gilbert Carey and Billy Carey.
Casket bearers were Jerry Pinkston, Steve Orberson, Jamie Terrell, Bradley Yates, Terry Yates, Terry Lee Yates, Terry Walston, Condit Arnold and Matthew Corey.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
