John Tapp Obituary

John Louis "Jack" Tapp, age 79, of Springfield, KY passed away Friday, Oct. 15, 2021, at his home following an illness.
A native of Washington County, he was born on Feb. 17, 1942, to the late William Jefferson "Bill" and Berry Litsey Thompson Tapp.
He was a member of the Springfield Presbyterian Church, a graduate of Springfield High School and a retired employee of Universal Leaf Tobacco Company of Richmond, Virginia.
Preceding him in death were two sisters, Nell Litsey Tapp on March 11, 1938 and Berry Varble on Nov. 29, 2018, and two brothers, Sterling T. Tapp on Jan. 21, 2011 and Dudley Tapp on May 18, 2021.
Survivors include his wife, Gayla Holliday Tapp; a son, John M. Tapp and his wife, Sarah of Winter Park, Florida; two grandchildren, Noah Tapp of New York, NY and Peyton Elizabeth Tapp of Winter Park, Florida and two brothers, Dr. Jimmy Tapp and his wife, Dee and William Tapp of Elizabethtown.
In keeping with Jack's wishes cremation was chosen and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
